San Gabriel Unified School District

Branding for SGUSD's "Portrait of a Graduate" (the core values of the school district) — Education Design. SGUSD, established in 1868, is located 10 miles outside of downtown Los Angeles. It consists of a diverse student population highlighted with their multiple dual emersion programs. They launched their Portrait of a Graduation, consisting of six core values: creative thinker, collaborator, global citizen, empathetic, resilient, and communicator. They were looking for a clear and consistent brand identity aligned with their current logo and colors.

SGUSD asked for an adapted logo for their Portrait of a Graduate based on artwork made by high school student in their graphic design course. The idea was to create a condensed version of the competencies in a modern light. They wanted to showcase the progression from a young elementary student to a graduate.
